A recent interview on Newsmax TV, Alina Habba, a spokesperson for Donald Trump and a lawyer, didn’t hold back in slamming New York Attorney General Letitia James, bluntly saying, She is not that bright.
As reported by the Conservative Brief on Sunday, November 12, 2023, Habba openly questioned the strength of James’ case, asserting, I’ve seen their case; I’ve seen their lawyers. They don’t know what they’re talking about. James had filed a $250 million civil lawsuit against Trump, accusing him of bank fraud by inflating property values for better loan terms.
Judge Arthur Engoron, who is overseeing the case, had previously ruled in September that Trump had defrauded banks, showing clear hostility toward the former president and his legal team.
Habba challenged the credibility of James’ claims, highlighting that banks base their loan values on the loan amount, not the true property value. She criticized James, suggesting she needs to get better educated, calling the situation completely insane and comparable to a circus.

Despite speculations about Trump facing guilt, it’s crucial to note that this is a civil matter, meaning no potential jail time. Habba brushed off concerns about imprisonment, citing Secret Service protection and maintaining Trump’s innocence. She asserted that Trump hadn’t committed any criminal or civil wrongs, labeling the case politically motivated and attributing it to Trump derangement syndrome.
When asked about the possibility of jail time for breaking gag orders, Habba emphasized Trump’s Secret Service protection, insisting he had done nothing wrong. She waved off the prospect of criminal acts, stressing the importance of facts in the trial process.
Notably, former federal prosecutor Andrew McCarthy criticized James in an op-ed, accusing her of creating losses where there were no financially affected parties. McCarthy argued that James and Judge Engoron were inventing victims to go after Trump. Trump countered these claims by stating that none of the banks and companies he dealt with suffered financial losses.
The interview with Alina Habba showcased a robust defense against the charges brought by Letitia James, framing the case as politically motivated and lacking substance. The ongoing legal battle, marked by Judge Engoron’s previous ruling and Habba’s forthright remarks, underscores the contentious nature of the allegations against the former president.
