On Truth Social, former President Donald Trump asserted that his net worth exceeds the figures presented in his current $250 million fraud lawsuit. New York Attorney General Letitia James accuses Trump, his sons, and associates of inflating his net worth for financial advantages.
As reported by Newsweek on Thursday, December 14, Trump dismissed the lawsuit as “politically biased and motivated,” insisting that his financial statements were undervalued rather than overvalued, contrary to James’ allegations.
Trump labeled the lawsuit a “WITCH HUNT” and argued that a disclaimer clause in his financial statements absolves him of blame, emphasizing that banks acknowledged the disclaimer clause in court and were paid in full, on time, and on schedule, with “NO VICTIMS, ONLY SUCCESS AND PROFITS.”
He expressed hope that Justice Arthur Engoron, overseeing the trial, would showcase the New York State Judicial System as “ALIVE, RESPECTED, AND WELL.”
However, Engoron had previously ruled against Trump’s reliance on disclaimer statements, deeming them “worthless.” Despite Trump’s defense team requesting a directed verdict to dismiss the lawsuit, Engoron rejected the plea.
The trial is set to resume on January 11, with closing arguments and Engoron’s decision on damages expected early next year. A gag order has been issued against Trump, preventing him from publicly discussing the trial or Engoron’s staff.
