As Election Day approaches, Willie Nelson is taking a stand for Vice President Kamala Harris. The legendary musician and cannabis advocate announced a virtual community call aimed at discussing the importance of cannabis reform in America. This event is scheduled for October 24 at 7 PM from his Luck Ranch in Texas, with Nelson co-hosting alongside his wife, Annie D’Angelo.

In a recent statement, Nelson expressed his excitement about the gathering, saying, “I’m thrilled to bring together such an amazing group of people to talk about something we all care about deeply. Cannabis is a path to healing, opportunity, and justice. Supporting leaders like Kamala Harris, who understand that, is crucial to putting an end to federal prohibition and undoing the harms it has caused, especially to communities of color where enforcement has been disproportionately heavy.”

The Zoom call will feature prominent voices from the cannabis community, including actress Whoopi Goldberg, singer Brittney Spencer, and Margo Price, along with lawyer Dahr Jamail, Colorado Governor Jared Polis, and Representative Brittany Pettersen. Attendees can RSVP for the event online.

Nelson’s initiative comes at a pivotal moment, as Harris prepares for a CNN town hall on October 23, following her recent debate with Donald Trump. The town hall will take place in Pennsylvania, a critical swing state, as both candidates ramp up their efforts ahead of the election. While Trump has previously stated there would be no third debate, he has agreed to a pre-taped Fox News town hall focused on issues affecting women.

With the spotlight on cannabis reform and its implications for social justice, Willie Nelson’s call for action highlights the growing intersection of politics and cannabis advocacy, reflecting the vital role these issues play in the upcoming election. The support for Kamala Harris among cannabis advocates signals a significant movement towards reform and justice that resonates with many voters across the country.
