Comedian George Wallace didn’t hold back during his appearance on CNN’s “Saturday Morning Table for Five,” where he took a jab at former President Donald Trump, calling him a “BS-er” in a moment that left the panel stunned.
Wallace, known for his sharp wit and unfiltered humor, jokingly floated the idea of running for president himself while discussing politics with Abby Phillip, Alyssa Farah-Griffin, Melik Abdul, and Jay Michaelson. But the conversation quickly turned serious as he explained why comedians, in general, take issue with Trump.
“If I run for president, I’d probably win because I’d just do what the people want,” Wallace quipped. “People want all this crazy stuff—hate, discrimination—but that’s the worst thing we could do. Let’s get rid of that and actually take care of the people.”
Wallace then highlighted how comedians around the world admire Ukraine’s Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, emphasizing that humorists make great leaders. “Comedians are some of the smartest people in the world,” he declared.
The conversation took a sharp turn when Phillip interjected, suggesting that Trump himself was somewhat of a comedian. That’s when Wallace fired back with his brutal assessment.
“Donald Trump is not a comedian. Let me tell you what Donald Trump is—Donald Trump is a BS-er, OK?” Wallace said. “And you know how I know? Because that’s what I do. All BS-ers know each other. We don’t have to meet, we just know.”
The legendary comedian then laid out why the majority of comedians don’t align with Trump. “I’m a New Yorker. All New Yorkers know a BS-er when they see one,” Wallace continued. “Ask any comedian—98% of them are against Trump because they don’t want that kind of hatred.”
Phillip then chimed in, noting that while comedians might dislike Trump, they certainly enjoy making jokes about him. Wallace didn’t disagree—but he made it clear that, in his eyes, Trump’s brand of “comedy” is nothing more than an act of deception.
Wallace’s blunt remarks have since sparked buzz online, with many viewers praising his no-nonsense approach to calling out Trump’s rhetoric. Love him or hate him, Wallace isn’t afraid to say exactly what’s on his mind!
