A lawyer representing former President Donald Trump has hinted at the chance of calling for a do-over in the New York fraud case, involving Trump and his business, as brought by the state’s Attorney General Letitia James. This news came from the Conservative Brief on November 4, 2023.
Christopher Kise, the attorney, pointed to a report by Matthew Boyle, Washington Bureau Chief at Breitbart News, as the reason behind this potential move.

In this report, Allison Greenfield, the top clerk for New York County Supreme Court Justice Arthur Engoron, was said to have potentially violated rules against making too many political donations.
Kise brought up this development, highlighting its possible impact on the fairness of the case and suggesting that the defense might need to consider starting the trial over.
The judge didn’t take kindly to this accusation and responded with frustration, calling it an allegation and questioning the credibility of the news organization behind the report.
According to the Breitbart News report, the judge learned about the alleged violation through a complaint filed by a third party. This 72-page complaint was sent to the court via email and was also filed with the New York State Bar Association. It coincided with the judge’s decision to impose a gag order on former President Trump during the ongoing case in Engoron’s Manhattan courtroom.
The report also detailed instances where Greenfield supposedly made political contributions that exceeded the allowable limit for court officials in a single calendar year. These donations, as per New York’s elections database, added up to thousands of dollars and went to various political organizations and committees.
The news of the trial and the allegations against Greenfield quickly garnered reactions from well-known figures. Ohio Republican Sen. J.D. Vance expressed his concerns on social media, calling the situation a disgrace and expressing frustration about the gag order on the Trump family.
Likewise, Republican Ohio Senate candidate Bernie Moreno criticized what he described as the actions of corrupt Democrats in New York, comparing their behavior to that of a third-world banana republic.
The ongoing controversy and the potential for a mistrial in the high-profile New York fraud case highlight the deep tensions and close scrutiny surrounding legal proceedings involving prominent political figures. As the case unfolds, its impact on the integrity of the judicial system and the broader political landscape continues to be the subject of intense speculation and debate.
