Concerns about President Joe Biden’s age and physical health have resurfaced after he nearly tripped while climbing stairs at a labor event in Philadelphia. The incident, captured on video and widely shared on social media, has raised questions about the President’s ability to maintain his physical fitness while in office.
During the event at the Tioga Marine Terminal, President Biden stumbled twice while walking towards the stage where he was set to discuss his economic policies. This incident follows previous falls, including one at the Air Force Academy in June, prompting Biden’s team to implement precautionary measures.
As a response, the President now wears tennis shoes and limits stair climbs to prevent further falls. He is also undergoing physical therapy with specialist Drew Contreras to improve his balance. Biden’s balance issues have been attributed to diagnoses of significant spinal arthritis and mild post-fracture foot arthritis by his physician.
The incident has sparked internal discussions within the Democratic Party, with some senior Democrats expressing frustration with Biden’s advance team. Representative Dean Phillips of Minnesota, a concerned Democrat, officially announced his candidacy for the presidency during a recent interview, highlighting the need for a generational change and emphasizing a focus on the future in the upcoming 2024 election.
The incident underscores the challenges faced by Biden’s administration in managing public perceptions about his physical health and addressing concerns within the party about his ability to lead effectively. It also raises questions about the future leadership of the Democratic Party as the 2024 election approaches.
