Alexander Taratuta, a 48-year-old wealthy father, has been sentenced to death in Belarus for the brutal torture and murder of his three-year-old son, Semyon. The horrific incident, which unfolded over an extended period, involved unimaginable suffering, starvation, and physical abuse inflicted upon the defenseless child.
Taratuta’s wife, Anastasia Taratuta, 37, was also held accountable and received a 25-year sentence in a strict regime penal colony for her role in the tragic events. The couple’s actions led to the death of their son, who weighed a mere 15lbs at the time of his demise

Evil parents Alexander and Anastasia Taratuta, 48 and 37, who respectively face the death penalty and 25 years in jail over the killing of their son Semyon, 3.
The court revealed harrowing details of the abuse suffered by young Semyon. He was subjected to long-term starvation, tied to a table leg, and his hands were tethered. Food was cruelly dangled in front of him, highlighting the extent of his suffering. Disturbing images on his gravestone depict the child with an injured nose, a haunting testament to the wounds inflicted by his own parents.
Tragically, Semyon succumbed to his injuries on January 4, following a fatal kick to the head by his father, which left him lifeless. A post-mortem examination further revealed eight serious wounds inflicted by the parents, painting a horrifying picture of the abuse endured by the young child.
In the courtroom, both parents displayed little emotion as they received their sentences. Despite Alexander’s denial of cruelty, the court characterized the child’s life under his parents’ care as a “pure hell.†Prosecutors argued that the couple, driven by personal hostility, intentionally inflicted pain and suffering on their son with the intention of murder.
Galina Shaduro, the chief of social services, confirmed the family’s wealth and highlighted the stark contrast in treatment between Semyon and his siblings. While the couple’s two daughters and Anastasia’s two sons from a previous relationship were treated as “princesses,†Semyon was subjected to relentless abuse and neglect.
Following Semyon’s tragic death, Anastasia displayed a shocking lack of remorse, evident in her callous act of buying lollipops for her other children. Legal procedures are now underway to terminate the parents’ rights, and the couple’s surviving children are in the care of authorities.
Belarus, the only country in Europe to implement capital punishment, has sentenced Alexander Taratuta to death by a method reminiscent of the Stalin era in the USSR. The execution involves blindfolding the condemned, forcing them to kneel, and delivering a fatal shot to the back of the head.
While Alexander has the option to appeal his death sentence and seek a pardon from Belarus dictator Alexander Lukashenko, such efforts rarely succeed in altering execution decisions. This chilling case serves as a stark reminder of the horrors of child abuse and the consequences that await those who perpetrate such heinous acts.
