Barbra Streisand, the renowned entertainer, recently restated her firm decision to bid farewell to the U.S. should Donald Trump secure the presidency once again, as reported by HuffPost on November 14, 2023.
During a recent appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Streisand emphasized her stance, bluntly stating, I can’t live in this country if he becomes president. This echoes her stance from the 2016 election when she actively campaigned for Hillary Clinton.
In response to Colbert’s inquiry about her potential destination, Streisand humorously mentioned, Probably England, I like England. Despite Trump’s victory in 2016, Streisand, along with other celebrities who made similar promises, ultimately decided to stay in the United States.
Known for her outspoken criticism of Trump, Streisand has consistently used strong language to express her views, referring to him as the Liar in Chief, the Groper in Chief, and labeling him as so stupid and “so ill-informed. She characterized Trump’s 2016 win as heartbreaking.
In her 2018 album, Walls, Streisand conveyed her sentiments towards Trump through music, particularly in the ballad Don’t Lie to Me, where she questioned the truthfulness of actions and addressed the global turmoil.
Reflecting on Trump’s presidency in 2021, Streisand described it as four years in a black hole, sharply criticizing the administration’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, emphasizing the importance of honesty for people to cope.
While promoting her latest memoir, My Name Is Barbra, on The Late Show, Streisand acknowledged President Joe Biden’s compassion but expressed her belief that the current U.S. political climate is bad.
Streisand continues to actively engage in political discourse, using her platform to express opinions on pressing national issues.
