“Despite the Fake News reports to the contrary… MS. POWELL WAS NOT MY ATTORNEY, AND NEVER WAS. In fact, she would have been conflicted,” Trump asserted on Truth Social, a platform he has endorsed.
This contradiction comes in light of Powell’s recent plea deal related to election interference charges in Fulton County, Georgia. Despite Trump’s current disavowal, a tweet from 2020, in which he praised Powell as a member of his legal team, stands in stark contrast to his current statements. Back then, Powell was named alongside other attorneys, including Rudy Giuliani and Jenna Ellis, in a tweet by Trump, highlighting the strength of his legal advisors.
