Justin Timberlake, the renowned singer and actor, made headlines recently after refusing to take a breathalyzer test during his arrest for driving while intoxicated (DWI) in the Hamptons. The incident occurred on Monday, June 17, leading to Timberlake being taken into custody and later arraigned on DWI charges. Despite the refusal of the breath test, he was released without bail and faces a court date scheduled for July 26.
According to Timberlake’s lawyer, Ed Burke, the singer also received citations for running a stop sign and not staying in the correct traffic lane. These additional charges compound the legal ramifications of the DWI incident.
The arrest took place after Timberlake had been out with friends at the American Hotel. Meanwhile, his wife, Jessica Biel, was busy filming her upcoming series, The Better Sister, in New York City, appearing in medieval attire alongside co-star Corey Stoll.
Timberlake and Biel, who married in 2012, have two sons together: Silas, aged 9, and Phineas, aged 3. Interestingly, on the day of Timberlake’s arrest, Biel had publicly praised him in celebration of Father’s Day, referring to him as their family’s rock.
Despite the legal troubles, Timberlake continues his professional commitments, currently embarking on his first tour in five years, the Forget Tomorrow World Tour. The tour, which commenced in April and is scheduled through December, includes upcoming performances at Chicago’s United Center on June 21 and June 22.
Neither Timberlake nor Biel has commented publicly on the DWI arrest incident. Timberlake, known for his active presence on social media, had recently shared a Father’s Day tribute, expressing gratitude for fatherhood and celebrating his bond with his sons.
The unfolding legal situation adds a new dimension to Timberlake’s public persona, contrasting with his ongoing artistic endeavors and family life.
