Horrifying murder has sent shockwaves through California as chilling new details emerge about the tragic killing of Cal Fire Captain Rebecca Marodi. According to an arrest warrant issued in San Diego County, the gruesome scene unfolded on January 17 at the couple’s home in Ramona, where security footage captured the terrifying moments leading up to the fatal attack. Marodi, 49, is heard pleading for her life, desperately crying out, “Yolanda! Please … I don’t want to die,” as her wife allegedly chases her across the patio with a knife in hand.

Moments later, Marodi appears on camera with what looks like blood streaming down her back. “You should have thought of that before,” a voice believed to be Olejniczak’s responds coldly. Investigators say the brutal exchange was followed by the final moments of the fire captain’s life as she was forced back inside the house, never to be seen alive again.

Authorities say Olejniczak, 53, sent a disturbing message to a friend shortly after the attack. “Becky came home and told me she was leaving me, she met someone else, all the messages were lies. We had a big fight and I hurt her… I’m sorry,” the text allegedly read. By then, Marodi had already been fatally wounded, suffering multiple stab wounds to her chest, abdomen, and neck.

The warrant reveals that Marodi had recently told Olejniczak she was ending their marriage, a revelation that appears to have escalated into deadly violence. Surveillance footage later shows Olejniczak hastily packing up pets, luggage, and other items before fleeing in a silver Chevrolet Equinox. A few hours later, her vehicle was spotted crossing the border into Mexico.

Now a fugitive, Olejniczak remains on the run, and law enforcement officials on both sides of the border have been alerted. The San Diego County Sheriff’s Office has urged the public to come forward with any information regarding her whereabouts, as the search for justice continues.
