Luis “Louie” Ruelas, husband of Teresa Giudice, has issued a public apology following controversial comments he made during the dramatic season finale of The Real Housewives of New Jersey. Ruelas took to Instagram Stories on August 6 to address the backlash he faced after expressing regretful remarks about Margaret Josephs’ son.
In his Instagram post, Ruelas admitted he was disheartened by his actions on the show. “The finale was very tough for me to watch and I wanted to address it with you all,” he began. Ruelas’ comments, including a statement wishing Josephs and her family to “suffer,” drew significant criticism from viewers.
Ruelas explained that his remarks were fueled by a prolonged dispute involving false accusations that he had contacted Josephs’ son at work. “For the last year, Margaret kept putting this narrative out there that I called her son at work, which is simply not true,” he claimed. “I know better than to bring someone’s child into this, and I deeply regret it.”
Ruelas acknowledged that while he felt compelled to defend himself during the “Last Supper” taping, he now recognizes the harm his words caused. “There’s been a lot of toxicity on the show that has affected everyone,” he continued. “Two wrongs don’t make a right, and I deeply regret saying what I said.”
During the season 14 finale, tensions escalated as Ruelas and Giudice planned their confrontation with Josephs. Ruelas’ harsh comments about Josephs’ family, including referring to her as a “disgusting, vile human being,” sparked outrage. Giudice supported her husband’s stance, claiming that their children had been affected by the ongoing conflict.
In a recent Instagram post, Giudice called for an end to the online harassment and toxicity. She expressed her frustration with the hate directed towards her and her castmates, emphasizing the impact on their families. “What is happening off-camera on social media is absolutely disgusting and is fueled by toxic people,” she wrote on July 24. “This hate and toxicity has to stop.”
