MINNEAPOLIS, MN – According to the University of Minnesota Department of Public Safety (UMPD), Sophie Christina Grant, age 18, who had been reported missing, has been found safe. Following a thorough search operation and the joint efforts of law enforcement and concerned citizens, Grant has been reunited with her relieved family.
The hunt for Grant began after she was last seen on Thursday near University Avenue and 15th Avenue SE. Authorities launched an inquiry right away and asked the public for any information that could lead them to her. When the neighborhood learnt of her departure, there was an immediate outpouring of concern for her safety and sadness.
Gant sparked a large search effort. She was reported as being 5’4″, weighing around 135 pounds, and having brown eyes. In order to discover the missing teen, the neighborhood banded together and circulated social media posts and posters. The dedication of the UMPD and public scrutiny have now produced positive results.
The UMPD issued a statement that was made public thanking everyone who assisted in the search for Grant. Law enforcement, the media, and community residents worked together to ensure her safe return.
