Errol Musk, father of Tesla CEO Elon Musk, has ignited fresh controversy by reviving a long-debunked conspiracy theory about former First Lady Michelle Obama. His claim, made during a podcast interview, has sent social media into a frenzy, with reactions ranging from disbelief to outright outrage.
Errol Musk’s Viral Podcast Clip Sparks Debate
A video clip featuring Musk’s father making the bold assertion has rapidly gained traction online. On February 13, 2025, X user @WojPawelczyk posted the footage, in which the podcast host suggested, “Michelle Obama is a man.”
Without hesitation, Errol Musk responded, “Of course. You don’t know that?… Joan Rivers mentioned it publicly. And she was dead two weeks later.”
Doubling down on the claim, he added, “You can look it up on any Internet thing. Michelle Obama is a man.” His remarks echo an old conspiracy theory that first gained momentum in 2014 after comedian Joan Rivers made similar statements.

The Joan Rivers Controversy Resurfaces
This conspiracy theory stems from a remark made by Joan Rivers in 2014. When asked at a New York City bookstore whether the U.S. would ever have a gay president, Rivers quipped, “We already have it with Obama, so let’s just calm down.”
She then took it a step further, claiming, “You know Michelle is a tranny.” When pressed for clarification, Rivers responded, “A transgender. We all know.”
Rivers passed away on September 4, 2014, at the age of 81 due to complications from a medical procedure. Despite her offhand comment, there has never been any factual basis to support the claim, but conspiracy theorists have continued to push the narrative.
Social Media Reacts to Errol Musk’s Statements
As expected, the internet exploded with reactions to Musk’s claims. While some users demanded proof, others ridiculed him for spreading baseless speculation.
One user on X demanded, “NEED MORE EVIDENCE. SHOW IT TO ME.”
Another seemed unfazed, commenting, “Errol looks decent for his age.”
Others outright dismissed Musk’s father, with one user stating, “Whatever he has to say, I don’t think we need to hear from this one.”
A frustrated commenter questioned, “The man is no longer in office, so why this? You don’t have anything positive to do with your life?”
No Evidence—Just Another Viral Conspiracy Theory
Despite the viral nature of Errol Musk’s statement, there is no credible evidence to support the claim that Michelle Obama is transgender. The theory, which originated as a joke by Joan Rivers, has been thoroughly debunked over the years. However, misinformation continues to spread rapidly online, often fueled by public figures.
As the internet debates yet another resurfaced conspiracy, one thing remains clear: in the digital age, sensational claims can gain traction in an instant—regardless of the facts.
Michele Obama should sue Papa Musk for slandder.
